Thank you for visiting my web page. This is still quite new and "udder construction" ;-) Check back often as we grow my virtual pasture. Love and milk to you all! --Kassie

BACKGROUND

Ms. Kassie was born on the lost continent of Mu, on July 3 of the 71st year of the XIX Mu Dynasty. Since her real name is unpronounceable by humans, she has adopted "Kassie" as her professional name. (Like Cher and Madonna, she uses only one.) She studied magick in her homeland. Her original religion having disappeared along with most members of her race, she converted to Hindu and now considers Brahma her patron. Kassie's race was worshipped by ancient Assyrians, as surviving artifacts show, and in ancient Egypt was associated with the goddesses Hathor (the Celestial Cow who gave birth to the universe) and Bat.

KaCSFFS MASCOT

Kassie became the mascot for the Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society (KaCSFFS) in 1977; as she puts it, she was "adopted into the herd." She was featured in the December, 1999 issue of Cacophony in the article "A Clash of Symbols" by John Taylor. She describes her epic battle with Trekon the Destroyer in her article "How I Saved the Soul of KaCSFFS," in the December 2000 issue of Timebound.

The February 2000 issue of The Time Machine featured "A Plea from Kassie," in which she complained about the "clip art" style picture of her being used and asked for a better portrait. Hugo award-winning fan artist Brad Foster composed a KaCSFFS logo incorporating Ms. Kassie, featured on the cover of the July/August 2000 Timebound. This logo has also been displayed on buttons and a club banner.

(Cacophony, The Time Machine and Timebound are various titles of the KaCSFFS newsletter.)

ACTING CAREER

Ms. Kassie is currently involved in an off-Broadway production of the brilliant new play, "When the Cows Come Home." As all her fans know, this follows her dazzling Broadway debut in "The Cow Jumped Over the Moon." Unfortunately we must report her made-for-TV movie project "Don't Have a Cow, Man" has been shelved at this time.

She prefers film roles which stress artistic integrity over commercial value. As an unfortunate result, none of her film appearances are currently available on video, and none have been a cash cow for her. She was featured prominently, if briefly, in a spectacular dance production number filmed as part of the "Everything's Up to Date in Kansas City" sequence in the film version of Rogers & Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!", but that sequence wound up on the cutting room floor.

BEHIND THE CAMERA

In 1983 she served as a technical consultant on "Top Secret!" and in 1987 on "Twister." Most recently she was fight choreographer and stand-in for the "Cow Fu" segment in "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist."

POLITICAL ACTIVISM

Ms. Kassie is actively involved in the vegetarian movement, and was recently seen on CNN protesting outside a McDonald's. She urges all her fans to adopt the vegetarian lifestyle. "That's vegetarian, not 'vegan,' says Ms. Kassie. "I enjoy diary products such as milk, cheese, cream and ice milk. I even tried an omelet once, but as you know I'm a ruminant and my digestion simply isn't equipped to handle that."

AUTOGRAPH SEEKERS WELCOME

"I'm shocked that many celebrities charge for their autograph," reports Ms. Kassie. "I'm no sacred cow." She also asks for the patience of autograph seekers. "I remind my fans that I have no fingers, but hooves; it may take me a minute or so to sign my name."

ROMANTIC INTERESTS

Since her species was virtually wiped out when Mu sank into the sea, Ms. Kassie has very few dating opportunities. The grapevine reports she has been seen with the ConQuest flying bull, but she insists "We are just friends."

DISPELLING A RUMOR

Regarding the rumors of a sex-change operation, originating in a letter published in the April/May issue of The Galactic Enquirer, Ms. Kassie issued the following statement: "It is unfortunate that the 'absence of malice' rule makes it impossible for us to successfully sue this lying tabloid for libel and defamation of character. This story is completely without foundation, and I udderly deny there is any truth to it."

E-MAIL KASSIE

Send your messages to bovinealatum.nospam@yahoo.com. (Remove ".nospam" when sending e-mail. This was added to prevent spamming.) Her career, political activism, and busy social calendar prevent her from answering many of her messages, but she wants her fans to know she reads them all.
